Invest in Sacramento

SCU in Action!

Here at Sacramento Credit Union, we are dedicated to the philosophy of "people helping people." Now, more than ever, it's important for collective groups, as well as individuals, to be active in their communities.

One of SCU's longstanding fundraising campaigns is the "Skip-A-Loan Payment" program. This unique program helps both SCU members and disadvantaged children during the holidays by allowing members to skip a loan payment, with the required $25.00 processing fee donated to the Sacramento Children's Home, a refuge for abused and neglected children.

In past years, members and employees have raised funds for the Sacramento Food Bank. This organization assists those in need of food and clothing, mainly the homeless. Families with children make up a large percentage of this homeless population.

SCU staff and their family members participate in the annual American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" Walk. Pledges are gathered by the walkers, with the proceeds from the walk going toward lifesaving research, education, patient support, and advocacy programs.

Employees have also contributed to the Special Olympics and elder abuse prevention programs, and have served for Rotary International, Junior Achievement, and Volunteers of America.

Some activities are traditions with high visibility while others are one-time contributions. We believe all of these efforts improve the quality of life for everyone in the community.
